| You Know You're Korean When.... |
| You have a container full of Kim-Chee in your fridge right now. You or your parents start singing when drunk. Your parents are shorter than you. You call a korean older than you "Oppa/Hyung" or "Un Nee/Nuna" Your parents think church is a social event. "No-Rae-Bang" is a common household word. Your main source of income is New Years. Everyone asks if you're Chinese. Your parents think anything goes with rice. "Glue? Use rice, it’s better" Your parents have never kissed you. Your parents have never kissed each other. Failing a class means finding a new place to live. Your mom rents korean soap operas and watches them daily. Sleeping on the floor is nothing new to you. Your parents yell your korean name REAL loud in public places. No matter how hard they try, your parents will never pronounce "wood" correctly. You think ramen is the fifth food group. You have to translate for your parents when ordering fast food. Your family owns a dry cleaning place, liquor store, or grocery store. Your mother has a short haired, curly perm. Your parents still tried to get you into places half-price saying your 12 when your really 14. You ask your parents help on your math homework and 2 hours later they're still lecturing you about how they knew it in 4th grade. You have a 40 lb. bag of rice in your pantry. You've had a bowl haircut in one part in your life. You've had to sit through karaoke videos with ugly asian women attempting to dance in a temple or park. You've had to eat parts of animals they don't even put in hotdogs. Piles of shoes tend to make it hard to open the front, back, and closet doors. You hear (your name + eee (optional) + yah) every time someone calls you. Your parents insist you marry someone Korean. People see a bunch of scribble on chopsticks and ask you to translate. Your parents simply cut off the green/black part off the bread and say "Eat it anyway, it’s good for you." Your parents have either forced you to play the piano, violin, or both. You have rocks, sticks, leaves, deer antlers, and other strange smelling substances for medicine. Your parents read about some super nerd who has no life and got in the paper for scoring highest in the SAT’s and ask why you can't be more like him. When an Asian girl with a white guy (or vice versa) walks by, your parents STARE at them with their eyes popping out. When you go to buffets, your parents make you eat until you think you're going to hurl, and even after you do, they say, "good, eat more." Your parents never participated in the "American" traditions of Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy. You'll say, "Where's Santa Claus?" and they'll reply, "Santa Claus! Ptch! He's dead!" And then you'll start crying. After you're get off the phone with someone from the opposite sex, your parents will start interrogating you about that person (except the last one). You'll talk to someone from the opposite sex two days in a row, and your parents immediately think there's something going on. You bring home straight As, and your parents say, "So? You're supposed to get that!" You're proud to be Korean - and you pass these jokes on to all your Korean friends! | | | |

| YAY today and yesterday was our trip to boston and back , visiting 4 ivy leagues~!!
it was really fun!!! good times good times
ok so some really memorable thangs = QUITE A few
-bus rides like half of the trip. damn it was funny
oh shoot why cant i remembre~
-just the universities themselves. MAD COOL!!!
-there was another threesome (sophmores) they were funny lol
-this bro/sis that were REALLY funny
-this hot freshman .. come to think of it, not that hot
-yale being the best in terms of building wise
-harvard being just the best (for me)
-mit being. EHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
-we said brown was so awesome as we were touring around , then we're like. EGH NO~
***hotel MEMORIES!!!
-wow... i mean.. wow!
-hearing that theres a pool and wanting to go in it
-closes at 10 so we have to hurry if we wanna go in
ok so we arrive at like 830 ish. and we wanna go in right? we settle in our room and stuff
and like. we'r elike oh we saw a dollar store as we were coming here. so we decidd to go there to get shorts to swim in hehe
like for me, i had brought shorts for some reason and they were so useful. and JJ had to buy like. reg. shorts
so its like 9 and dark and we're lookin for dollar store. w'ere jujst like walking on the streets, more like running
and we cant find it . cuz ahrem julie ahrem. WE GO THE WRONG WAY. so its dark once again. and we're just like looking fo rit
i remember we went into dunkin donuts and asked this lady where it was. she points to a completely opposite direction we're like WTF
but w/e we still walk all the way there. takes us like 5 min. and its still dark hehe and in the moment, im wearing my shorts and its cold. BLEH
so we go the other way to dollar store . and guess wat ITS CLOSED!!! friggin dollar tree
so across the 247190421830 miles (heh not really) of the parking lot we see kmart. we decide to go there.
and they finally get shorts. we get outta therer. its like. 9.. 20ish and we have to hurry if we wanna like swim. so then we run to the hotel. and once again, its like dark
yeah s then ew get to the hotel by like 930ish and we pass the pool to go to our room first. we change and go down right tot he pool.
WE JUMP IN LIKE WHOAAA and start our fun
-our lil ballet performance in the water haha jen
-jen's so called cheer for the lee team. SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN
-us trying so hard to do the stupidest water thing.. wow lol
-drama game~~ "mean girl, nice girl, and .. GUY " lol
-we play til like. 10 20 til this guy tells us its closed. so we go up to our room
shower. then we like watch tv and eat cup ramyun which was mighty good.. oh and we had such a hard time to boil the frigign water too. grr
chyeahh and then. we just chillang.. and like yeah talk and like play cards and yeah . were in bed
OMGOSH this morning. we're suposed to like wake up at 6 and eat breakfast downstairs and go out to bus by like. 750 right?
OMGOSH julie got the wakeup call at 6 and shes like yeilee, its 6. so we both go uh huh. and guess what, we fall asleep again. cuz i mean c'mon its SIX O'CLOCK and we slept at 1 am
yeah so then the nxt time julie wakes up first and looks at the clock, its like what. 750!!!!! and were like WTF. oh shooottt and like yeah
i call the tour guide tellin him to wait for like 10 min. for us
and yeah we're like getting ready and ressed as FAST AS WE CAN. and its our last day in the hotel too. so we lkie have to hurry and get everything outta there by like 10 min. so we're like yeah SJDLAJWROIRUJOIWEJRWELIRJWEFLJWLFIJ all lke. chyeah
and jens like in the bathroom, having so many things to take care of , that girl.
so we're outta there by like 8 and hes like waiting for us. and everyones int he bus waiting, and this ahjummas like be on time from now on. we're lik. ok sheesh and yeah
so then we were off to brown univ. and that was interesting.
yeah.. it was SOO EXCITING TO SEE ALL THOSE COLLEGES AND LIKE IT WAS JUST SO MUCH fun!
yeha so that was a really great spring break .. one thta i'll never forget.
now tomorrow starts another day of scohol SIGH its like good vs. bad 50/50 yehah... but w/e we only have like what 2 more months of school. OMGOSH!!! lol all these things concerts, smokey joes, dance, promotion, and thats it. then its the summer.. wow.. goodness OMGOHS then high school
yehh.... i think im writing WAY too much. so i'll just stop now.
well yeah great times with my betches on the trip is what i wantedto say... hehe

but im kinda glad i did
but then again, all humans have to change since their pasts. so yeah that was kinda pointles
but i had to just say it~
lonely` im so lonely
i have nobody im on my own...
im not that lonely like exageratedly~
but i feel kinda.. :( at church
and at school, im getting it slightly.
maybe its cuz of my horrendous, ghastly (voc. word), and like. BAD greed i have ... bad satan :(
yet i have a hard time turning away and to GOD.. i feel terrible about it, yet i dont seem to improve to do nething about it. urgh
